Like many village homes, this house was a warren of small rooms. The client, who is a great chef, wanted a larger, more functional kitchen. We got to work taking out many walls to rework the kitchen, dining, music, and laundry rooms. As part of the kitchen renovation, we installed new cabinets, refinished the hardwood floors, and added new tile and appliances. The spacious, open concept kitchen and dining area now open up onto the backyard with French doors with plenty of room for entertaining. Just past the kitchen door is a stairway that leads to a new laundry room and a repurposed garage which is now a music room.
